Since I last blogged...

Saturday - we cooked lots of food and fed the slum.

Sunday - Team 1 (Alissa's team) did songs and stories with the neighborhood kids. Team 2 (my team) was supposed to go to Church, but they canceled, which was good because 3 of us were sick (leaving only 4 healthy). I think I slept almost the whole day...I don't remember, but I think team 1 went out and served Chai to homeless people.

Monday - Team 1 (Alissa's team) went to the Mother Theresa house. The girls did laundry and hung out with the ladies, and the guys did whatever the guys do... Team 2 (my team) did meal preps + clean-up, work duties and spent time talking to the Father while walking to Jk1st and back. We avoided doing lunch prep by buying somosas while we were praying and walking. Yummy...

Tuesday - after feeling sick all night (feverish and achy) I threw up Monday's dinner of rice and cabage. I realized that I should probably chew the cabage better next time. Then I diareahed (is that a word?) the somosas, and went back to bed for the whole day.

The rest of the team got ready for the leader's conference (Thur-Sat) and some friends from America came, because they are speaking at the conference. It was very exciting to talk to other English-speaking Americans and be filled in on the events of home (the writer's strike and who is running for president).

Wednesday + Thursday I still had fevers during the night and was very achey. I didn't eat much and slept all day. When I got board of the room, I would take a late afternoon nap on the roof and get sunlight and fresh air. It had been breezy so the pollution had cleared, so I enjoyed seeing the sky and clouds, and watching birds fly overhead. I even saw the moon.

Friday - I only slept till noon. Then I read the Word and talked to the Father. I took a shower, washed my sheets and PJs (which I had been wearing many days). Then I went back to bed...

Saturday - I actually woke up, after not having a feaver (due to taking a lot of Tylenol and Ibuprofen). I felt human, so I went with the team to the conference. It was amazing to be out and about again. India looked so bright and beautiful!

Sunday - We (team 2) did stories and songs with the neighborhood kids. In the evening we went to the really cool Church again. Riding in the tempo was sickening, due to the fact that I actually ate real food (rice and daal), and my tummy wasn't happy about it. I somehow managed to not vomit, which was good because I shared at church. This time they had power, but someone forgot to bring the music for our drama, so it was silent again.

For the past 2 weeks the boys have been working on building a chicken coop. So we can buy chickens so that our hosts can have eggs to eat.
