Sunday a week ago we split up and went to various churches with our friends from the good old USA. Everyone returned with lots of amazing stories. I will attempt to recall them and share them with you as accurately as I can remember:
James + Marty met a boy who had leg problems and it was very hard and painful for him to hobble along. They talked to the Father, but nothing was happening. Then the pastor introduced the boy and his dad to the Father. So cool. And then, they kept talking to the Father for the boy and he was able to walk and it didn't hurt anymore!
Marina was talking to the Father for some ladies and had translator, but he stopped translating, because it wasn't necessary. The Father was speaking through Marina, and even though the ladies didn't know English, it was obvious that He was working in their lives through what Marina was saying.
At one church our favorite Tempo driver, went to the service with the team. At the end, there was a call for people who wanted more faith. His brother went to this church and responded to the call, so our driver decided to go up as well, and he wanted to know the Father too.
That's all the stories that I can remeber from last Sunday. For a couple of weeks now 2 guys who have been comming to the house to learn English, and at some point in this past week, they asked to meet the Father too. Today for English class they read Proverbs and Eli and Nelson explained the things that they didn't understand.
Studying the Word in people's homes - that lasted a grand total of 4 days. After we were at one house our friend/host was threatened by his neighbors. As a result, us American's stopped visiting people to study the Word with them. Instead some of our Indian friends went, but no one else came, because there were no American's to be the bait. In other words, the only reason people came to study the Word, was because there were white people there.
Sunday's song/story time at the house - There were about 40 kids coming. Apparently, they thought the American's left so attendance dropped to 8 last week, and only 2 today. Rumor has it that the other kid's parent's won't let them come. Also the English school for the slum kids, used to met on the roof almost every afternoon, but that has also almost ceased to exist.
