Half-Way

We are now half way through our time in India. It's hard to believe that we have been here 5 weeks already (I think that's how long we've been here) , and only have 5 more.

This past week went by so fast. Mon and Tues the breakfast prep people got up at 5am, we ate by 6am, left at 7, and at 8am we arrived at the Mother Theresa House for the Destitute.

Both days we helped do the laundry (now we really know how to get it clean),
trim toenails and finger nails and take down the Christmas decorations.

Then we went to a park for lunch. It happened to be a military park, so after attracting a large crowd, and figureing out what they were trying to say, we were kicked out of the park, because we're not supposed to be in a military park. So we ate our sandwhiches at Globas (which is kind of like a mall), but we got kicked out of there too, because we weren't supposed to bring in outside food.

We spent the afternoons in pairs doing walking around, meeting new people, and telling them about the Father. Fumi and I had a strategy for meeting English-speaking people, and that is to go to a little resturant and get ice cream. We did this twice in one day, and we got to talk to people while we ate our ice cream.

5-6 evenings a week we have started studying the Word at various houses in the neighborhood. That makes our days much busier. The guys on our team started teaching English to a couple of Indian guys. We spent most of Wednesday making lessons plans for that.

Wednesday afternoon we went to the Mother Theresa orphange and played with the babies and toddlers. They were soooooo cute!!!
