Duane & I drove slowly from the wedding to the reception, with the windows down, still jammin’ to “Jai Ho”, and randomly yelling, “we’re married!!!”
At the reception hall, we greeted everyone else as they arrived, and then we sat down.
To get everyone’s attention, Duane yelled, “I’m a married man!” and then he blessed the food. We feasted on rice & chicken curry, hummus, greek salad, and Chai, all made by my friend Rebecca, with help from Ruth as well as Duane’s mom.
After everyone was eating, Matt led us in communion with pita-bread and chai (or iced tea). Then Matt prayed for us, followed by Chris (maid of honor) and then a toast from Chris (best man).
Duane & I fed each other angel-food cake, dipped in the chocolate fountain
and then we mingled and talked to people.
As it came time to go, Abby (flower girl) and a couple of the other girls handed out bubbles and everyone gathered outside. Duane & I exited, and I thew the bouquet to all the single ladies. Rebecca (chef) caught it, and I’d say she deserved it after all her hard working arranging the bouquets and cooking for the reception.
Duane & I got in our car only to realize that his iPhone was still in the truck, and mine was attached to the sound-system in the reception hall. After our friends retrieved our phones, and drove off, cans bouncing on the road, and balloons popping as they flew around on the roof.
