Many of our wedding planning conversations started with, "how do people usually..." Followed by, "who cares? How do we want to do it?"
One thing I have learned over the years is that people keep doing things the same way it has always been done, because that's the way it's always been done. Well, they can stay in their little rut, but Duane & I are pioneers! We also like to have fun!
In the state of Colorado the only requirements for a legal marriage ceremony is that we sign the marriage licence under a tree. We don't even need to have a minister, but we will have one, because that's just a little too strange. Everything beyond that is us making stuff up and planning a fun wedding. Don't worry, it's nothing too crazy or abnormal, just a stress-free, fun event, because I don't think weddings need to be a big stressful ordeal, they should just be fun...but not as chaotic and disorganized as an Indian wedding...
I am super excited about our wedding!! I wish I could tell everyone all about all our sweet plans, but that ruins the surprise. So I can't wait to show off our pictures and the wedding video. It's going to be great!!!
11 Days!!! I'm just not sure what to do between now and then. I like to plan, organize, make to-do lists, and then check things off the list. I also do not believe in procrastination, so I usually finish things sooner than necessary and then ask myself, "now what do I do?" Whoever says that wedding planning is stressful, needs to try taking 15 people over-seas for 3 months...and there is no reason it should ever take an entire year to plan a wedding...
What's left to do?
Thursday
- Pick up our flowers
Friday
- Haul all our stuff up to the wedding location (I've heard that's called a Venue, but that's such a weird word)
- Pick up the food for the rehearsal lunch (not dinner, it's a picnic)
- Rehearsal and set-up
- Hang-out with our wedding party
Saturday
- Pictures
- Wedding!!!!
- Reception
I would say that I dare you to think of something I haven't done already, but I really don't want to be interrogated...so just assume that if you can think of it, we've got it taken care of, or we just not doing that...
