The twins were surprising very awake and cheerful at 5am, and super excited because today's the day we go to the airport!
The past week has been whirlwind of activity for the few of us left in town - doing the base newsletter, getting Menke's visa + flight to India, meetings, training the new accountant, packing, cleaning, and playing with the kiddos, not including the extra activities such as the Sr High Youth Group Progressive Dinner, etc.
Yesterday was the busiest day yet. Joe took Menke to the airport - so now the whole group is in India :) Carrie was at the office all day, and I was on kid-duty :) I have such a hard life...At dinner we celebrated Joe's birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE! Then us singles went to the Young Adult white elephant Christmas Party, while Joe and Steve spent a couple hours getting the van out of the River House driveway - that's what happens when you get a foot of snow in 24 hours in a town which doesn't believe in plowing any of the side roads till 4am...
It was a short night as we stayed up late working, packing, cleaning, and in my case keeping baby Will asleep...like I said, I have a really tough life :)
Bright and early this morning (actually it was still dark), the roads were cleared-ish,
Then came the moment I've been dreading - the final good-bye. My (not) family boarded their flight and are off to see their relatives. I don't think the twins realize I won't be here when they get back. I have said "good-bye" to friends before, knowing the kiddos will be bigger next time I see them, but this is a little different, because I've been living with them for the past 6 months and it was my first real "home" since I moved to Idaho...next time I see them, the twins will be almost 4 and baby will be almost a year old...
Now I am sad, depressed, and alone in the Boise airport...and my flight has been delayed 1.5 hours...this is going to be a long day...but the flight attendant just told me the SoutWest terminal has really comfy chairs, so I might just move over their for a couple hours...
