Surprise!! I'm Staying in India!!

Right now we are at that time when people are counting down. Only 2 more days of volunteering and 1 week left in India. The group flies back to Idaho on Feb 14th, but I do not. Nope, I will be on a train headed east, because I am staying in India until March 21st. Surprise!! :)

You may be wondering what I will be doing for the next 5 weeks. Well, first I'll be in either Kolkota (Calcutta) or Vnsi for 2 weeks, and then March 1st I will join Josiah and Joe (Idaho staff) in Mumbai for 1 week. For the last 2 weeks I may follow the guys to A-bad and Vnsi, or split and go to Kolkota (if I haven't already been there). If I do leave the guys, in the end, Joe and I will meet in Delhi and fly back to the USA on March 21st. In India, you can't plan very far in advance, and even if you have plans, they will probably change. So I'm learning to go with the flow and not stress out about these things.

My purposes for staying in India are:
1) Get contacts and build relationships for when we bring future groups to Mumbai, A-bad, Vnsi, and Agra
2) I personally want to learn more about what is going on in the "red light district", children at risk, orphans, and human trafficking – specifically in Kolkota and Mumbai.
3) I want to learn Hindi – what better way to do that than being in India without a bunch of Americans. I could chill at an orphanage (Kolkota) or help with Kindergarten at the Hindi school (Vnsi). I bought a "teach yourself Hindi" book, and I've already learned 4 letters! I practiced writing them a million times...I feel like I'm in Kindergarten.
4) Seeking direction from the Father for what I am going to do with my life, and seeing if maybe His plan involves India.

Please talk to the Father for me:
1) That I won't be too depressed when the team leaves.
2) That I hear back from Kolkota, so I know if I will go there or to Vnsi first.
3) Peace and rest as I tend to get stressed out every time I move to a new location.
4) Safety as I travel and that I will be able to sleep on the over-night train rides, and that nothing gets stolen or anything like that.
5) Health – I have a never-ending cough (thanks to the pollution), and my stomach hurts a majority of the time. Currently there is a flu going around our team.
6) That I can learn lots of Hindi
7) Finances so I can go visit friends and family in NY/PA once I return to America.
