One day during our team meeting Wesley walked into the “living room” (also the guy’s bed room). He dragging one of Carrie’s shirt. “What’ch doing Wesley?” “Ummm. Helpin' laundry.” Too bad it was, and I stress was, a clean shirt…
We use a little more than 100 gallons of water a day – not bad considering that includes cooking, dishes, drinking, “flushing” the sqatties, “showering”, and of course doing our laundry.
I dedicate this whole blog to laundry…because between the 13 of us there is always laundry in some point of the cleaning process.
For the rest of us, it begins with scooping water from our 500 liter tanks. After 3 days, the tanks are almost empty, but I quote “nothing is impossible if you’re an American.” A more true statement would be, “us Americans are learning to be more like the Indians.” I can still reach the water!!

Step 3 – “spin cycle” – Let laundry soak, while eating breakfast or something, stir water occasionally.
Step 5 – “final rinse cycle” – place laundry in clean water, stir it around, and wring out again.
Step 6 – “The Dryer” – hang laundry on clothes line – then go do something else for a few hours or the rest of the day…

Step 7 – Folding – gather the dry laundry, which is warm from the sun light, fold and put back in back-pack or a stack on the floor, or wherever you keep it.
