Hiking in the Snow

A few weeks ago Pastor Jeff showed a great picture of the tunnel by Smith's Ferry. Duane and I were inspired to drive to the bridge and then hike 1/2 mile to the tunnel. But we thought it would look even better after it snowed!

We didn't get a good snow till Saturday, but I was in Boise all day on a Girl's Shopping Trip. On Sunday it kept snowing as we had church and said "good-bye" to a few friends who were leaving for Thanksgiving/India/Nepal.

Tonight we are supposed to get another 6-10 inches of snow, so we thought we should probably walk to the tunnel before that happens. As it is, we hiked though about 8 inches of snow, stumbling over railroad ties...good news is my "new" (free) snowpants work well...
It was a long walk, but we made it...and took lots of cute pictures (we brought a little box to put the camera on).
The walk back was long, cold, getting dark...thought I might die...
Duane and I both have bad hips, so by the end, we were both limping pretty pathetically...we're too young to feel this old, but I think I need a new hip...I can't wait to go to the Chiropractor...

That is such a cute picture of y'all in the tunnel! I'm glad you mentioned the box thing, though, because I was just wondering how you managed such a cute picture without your camera sinking into the snow and getting wet! LOL! Love y'all...can't wait to meet the other half of the All Y'all too! LOL!
