We spent the morning at the Salem campus, debriefing yesterday, and I'd say team building, but that's probably not the right term...more like working through stuff, learning from our mistakes, and figuring how to work better as a team...
We were given some groceries, and enjoyed coffee/hot chocolate at the home of one of the Salem staff. I also befriended a dreadhead...because that's what we do - complement each other's hair (it's more exciting small talk than the weather), and then move on to other topics. I also met a couple who want to pioneer a School in Downtown Portland, and that is what brought them to Salem.
Through a friend of a friend, we found a place to stay for longer than one night, which means we no longer need to spend each day trying to figure out where to sleep...what a relief...the house happens to be on dirt road - and during our prayer time someone had a picture of a dirt road - confirmation we are at the right place :)
On the way back to Portland we followed a truck with a Wash Machine in the back...that's funny because when we were praying about the road trip someone got a picture of a Wash Machine, and then there it was...random...
This evening we worked with Bridge Town Ministry's "Night Strike." They met at a church downtown for prayer and orientation...and our School theme verse was on their bulletin board:
“Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations” Isaiah 58:12
We spent a couple hours under the bridge, met lots of interesting people, had some good conversations, and prayed for people...and some nice person posted a youtube video for me to borrow, that way I don't have to explain things...
We arrived back at our host home around midnight and enjoyed a delicious hot dinner...kind of feels like outreach in India...now I need to go to sleep...
