Metro

Saturday we went to the slum area near San Jose. We worked with “Metro M-work” doing a kid’s service. It was super fun and reminded me so much of being in “Kids Church” at Elim.
I was volunteered to be the catcher for the water balloon throw game. It was the best job ever, because it was super hot, and therefore refreshing to get wet. Although the balloons that exploded on the ground sent dirt and mud flying. The game was a relay race boys against girls. The kids were supposed to throw the balloons into the bucket, and I may have helped some by moving the bucket some. It was a win-win situation, either I got wet and refreshed, or I caught a balloon, which meant that at the end, I had a bucket full of water balloons to throw :) “All children have a right to relax and play and join in a wide range of activities” (CRC article 31), and the grown-ups get to have fun too.
