Village

We were quite the spectacle walking down the street. 2 blond boys riding on their parents shoulders, all of us wearing flower necklaces. We were given the necklaces that morning at the staff meeting. We met some India friends and learned about what they do, then introduced ourselves and told them about what we do in Idaho.

After the meeting we loaded into 2 auto rickshaws. The 5 guys in one, and the other had 9 of us (including the driver) – the family and us 4 girls. That was the record number of people we had fit.

Along the way our rickshaw ran out of gas, so we walked a bit. Motorcycles passed us and the drivers looked back to stare at the little blond boys riding on their parent’s shoulders. Fortunately no one was injured as a result of our parade.

We had been invited for lunch at the house of a friend. At last, at 4pm, lunch was ready. Although we were quite hungry, but it was still a challenge to finish the heaping mound of rice and chicken burioni.

After lunch an SUV arrived to take us to the village. Just 1 SUV for 16 people. It was quite a ride...

We were the first white people ever to visit this gypsy village.
Joe had prepared a Word to share and 1 of the guys was going to share his testimony. Our translator asked for more, so Jadie stepped up and told a Story. Then they asked for a girl to share a testimony. So I did the leader-ish thing and shared without preparing. I didn’t even have time to be nervous. At the end of our meeting, we talked to the Father for lots of people.
Then we piled in our SUV and went home. 8:30 pm, and time for dinner…
