Off to India

You are probably aware of the situation in Mumbai, India. We have been watching the news and have been in contact with our friends in India. We feel that we will be safe in the area that we are going, and so we’re still going. We fly out on Dec 4th!! If it makes you feel better, we would have flown in to Mumbai, but it was cheaper to fly into Delhi, so that is what we are doing.

Originally we were going to split into 2 teams. But in the past 3 weeks one student didn’t finish training, another needs to do a state-side outreach for medical reasons, and then a third decided not return from Thanksgiving break.

5 days before outreach, I was suddenly the only girl on my team. It also messed up our budget and the dramas we had prepared. We have learned to be flexible, especially when it comes to India. There’s really no point in making plans, because they always get messed up anyway. We have decided to combine the two teams.
