I forgot to mention an important detail about Alissa's hospital visit. It cost 1725. That caused a second of panic, until I realized that's in Rupes. In American dollars that $45.
A couple of weeks ago I bought some new glasses. I had an eye exam for a whole dollar and frames and lenses cost 1800 (that was more than Alissa's hospital visit). But the whole bill was only $48 in American dollars. I'd say that's good.
The funny thing is my prescription was a little different than my old glasses (I've had them for probably 5 years). Anyone who has glasses know that when your perscription changes, it's a little sickening until your eyes adjust. It messes up depth perception, because suddenly the ground is clearer and seems a lot closer. Anyway take that weird feeling, then imagine that you're in India. You walk out of the Eye Dr's onto a busy street.
The sun is brightly shining and reflecting off of fast moving cars, tempos, motorcycles, and rickshaws. In India you have to watch where you're going (so you don't walk into any cows) and look at the ground so you don't steep on poop, or in a hole. There's a lot of looking up and down. Then you get in a rickshaw.
That ride was sickening, and gave me a headache. On top of that, I was with Lacey and this was right after she broke her toenail. Her shoes hurt her large bandaged toe, so I switched shoes with her, because I had sandles. Her shoes were a little big for me and therefore took a little effort to keep on my feet. It was a challening day...and very amusing...
Moving on to yesterday. I have bronciticus so I went to the doctor (for $1.50) and got antibotic for $3. I love India. I was asked to get double of whatever the Dr perscribed, because Tommy is sick too, but he was too lazy to go to the Doctor himself. The amazing thing is, in the past 2 years I've been on antibotics every 2-3 months for sinus infections or bronciticus. So I was rather concerned about going in K-Town India, because it's the 7th most poluted city in the world. However the Father is gracious and I just set a record of not being on antibotics for a total of 5 months. Of course I have had a varity of other illnesses, but that's beside the point...
