Home Sweet Home

This past weekend we were able to move to our camp. It was evacuated a couple of months ago when a forest fire went through this area. The staff asked the Father to protect our borders or boundaries. That is what happened. So we can tell exactly where the property line is, because everything inside is green, and outside is burnt. There is a tree right on the property line and one side of it is burnt, and the other side is not. Amazing!

The problem with living in the only green area for miles, is the animals. We have lots of chipmunks and squirrels, which the guys enjoy tormenting. We also have a larger guest. “Gentle Ben” aka a black bear, who we saw a couple of days ago, and the other night “Gentle Ben” ripped the metal lid off of the dumpster and dragged a lot of garbage off into the woods. It’s all ok, because the bear is more afraid of us then we are of it. All of the building are very close together, and we make a lot of noise during the day, so the bear stays away...durring the day. This camp is not very big, so everyone would hear if we screamed. That's what you do if you see a bear, make eye contact, be loud, act big, and don't run because the bear will run faster than you. However, if you are planing on running, just make sure that you are with someone who runs slower than you...
